Kathleen has been working as a music therapist at ABS since 2015. She graduated from the University of Dayton in 2014 with her Bachelor’s of Music in Music Therapy. During college her primary instrument of study was voice, but she is also proficient in guitar, piano, saxophone and a variety of percussion instruments. Following graduation, Kathleen completed a 7 month internship at Institute for Therapy through the Arts, in Evanston IL. There, she provided services to individuals and groups with various physical and neurodevelopmental delays, traumatic brain injuries, at risk youth, trauma survivors, and other populations. In addition to being a board certified music therapist, Kathleen is also certified in Neurologic Music Therapy and is a Registered Behavior Technician. She employs an integrated approach to therapy, with a focus on the client to therapist relationship. She believes in working with the client’s abilities to address their needs and goals, empower self-esteem, and support life-changing treatment
